Centaurea ragusina

Snowflake Dusty Miller
True white foliage is hard to come by. Yes, the family of "Dusty Millers" has been one of the old "go-tos" that might supply this need, but problematically, most of them elongate into flower stems and then the whole plant falls apart and shatters. However, that's NOT the case with Centaurea ragusina. This beautiful, durable variety maintains its compact, rounded "snowball" of white leaves in mounds 2-3' wide, and only 10-12 inches tall, that are hardy from below zero up to 11 O's. That means it's versatile from beaches, to the deserts and mountains! Yellow flowers arise from the plant on slender stems, that do not affect the compact growth habit of the plant.
